  • 2 New York Strip steaks
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup red wine (or additional beef broth for a non-alcoholic version)
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • Optional garnishes: chopped fresh parsley or thyme

Instructions

  • Step 1 – Lightly oil the bottom of the crock pot or use a liner for easier cleanup.
  • Step 2 – In a bowl, combine the beef broth, red wine, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour the mixture into the bottom of the crock pot.
  • Step 3 – Season the steaks with salt and pepper, and rub each with minced garlic and a drizzle of olive oil.
  • Step 4 – Place the seasoned steaks on top of the sauce. Top with sliced onion.
  • Step 5 – Set the crock pot to low and cook for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours, until the steaks are tender and fully cooked.
  • Step 6 – Transfer the steaks to plates, spoon over some of the cooking juices, and garnish with fresh herbs if using.
